  23.             Currently OASIS contains more than  1,000,000  bibliographic
  24.             records.  These records represent (1) all cataloged items in
  25.             the Main Library and the eleven departmental libraries  pub-
  26.             lished  since  1980  (along  with many older books and jour-
  27.             nals), and (2) all Law Library materials  except  some  Iowa
  28.             documents in microfiche format and all U.S. government docu-
  29.             ments.

  33.             To  access  OASIS  using  IBM  3270  emulation:  TN3270   to
  34.             "uidpjes2.adp.uiowa.edu"
  35.  
  36.             To access OASIS using Telnet: "telnet" to "oasis.uiowa.edu"
  37.  
  38.             After connection is made, press "return" to display  a  menu
  39.             of  available systems.  Type the number "1" for OASIS access
  40.             and press "return".

  42.             To disconnect:  Type "STOP" at any command prompt.
  43.  
  44.             Availability:  The OASIS online catalog can be searched Mon-
  45.             day through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.; Friday and
  46.             Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.; and Sunday from  9:00
  47.             a.m. to 2:30 a.m.  (Iowa is in the Central Time Zone.)
